aither Petroleum Corporation originated in 1985 as Petroleum Resources of Texas, Inc. Under the leadership of its Founder, O. Duane Gaither II, the company provided contract services for operators in the southwestern United States. As the company grew it began to operate Gulf Coast oil field properties on a contract basis, and acquire oil and gas interests. In 1991, the company broadened its scope to include all aspects of operations in oil and gas. It was reorganized and renamed Gaither Petroleum Corporation, incorporated in Delaware and headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Since then, the company has focused specifically on smaller or marginal oil and gas properties. It specializes in the management and rejuvenation of existing fields, and joint venture exploration for, and development of, new fields. Through an "integrated approach", Gaither Petroleum's experienced, hardworking professionals including geologists, geophysicists, engineers, and financial analysts, work side by side to create maximum synergy. All have access to the most recent in technological advances and methods of analysis.
